The players — including doubles specialist Rajeev Ram, a volunteer assistant coach at the University of California, Berkeley — have been unable to leave their hotel rooms because of COVID cases on their flights to Melbourne.
A third WTA tournament, for players who have been unable to train, will be held Feb. 3-7.

UTR Pro Tennis Series — Madison Weekley, a high school junior from Alamo in the San Francisco Bay Area, fell to Skyler Grishuk, playing in her hometown, 6-2, 6-7 (4), 7-5 in the fourth-place final in a $25,000 tournament in Newport Beach, Calif.
Weekley has verbally committed to Saint Mary's in the Bay Area.
