Bellis teamed with 5-foot-2 (1.57-meter) Lauren Davis, 22, of Boca Raton, Fla., in the Revolution Technologies Pro Tennis Classic in Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.
Bellis and Davis defeated Jennifer Elie and Michaela Gordon, 16, of Saratoga in the Bay Area 7-5, 6-4 in the quarterfinals before losing to eventual runners-up Jessica Pegula and Maria Sanchez, a 26-year-old Modesto product, 6-0, 6-1.
Gordon jumped 137 spots to a career-high No. 592 in doubles.
Bellis won the biggest doubles title of her life in the $100,000 Dow Corning Tennis Classic in Midland, Mich., in February with 17-year-old American Ingrid Neel.
Bellis lost in the first round of singles in Indian Harbour Beach to top-seeded Shelby Rogers of Charleston, S.C., and remained No. 257. Bellis and Neel defeated Rogers and Naomi Broady for the Midland doubles championship.
American Jennifer Brady won the Indian Harbour Beach singles title, and Julia Glushko of Israel and Alexandra Panova of Russia took the doubles crown.
Brady, a former UCLA All-American, also won the 2014 Redding Challenger.
