Barretto to face Huang in NorCal Boys Sectional final

   Paul Barretto ended Mayson Xue's impressive run in the NorCal Boys' 18 & 16 Sectional Championships.
   Barretto also avenged his brother's loss.
   Seeded fifth from Tiburon, Barretto defeated the unseeded Xue, from San Ramon, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the 18-and-under semifinals on Sunday at Sacramento State.
   Xue had toppled No. 1 seed Lane Leschly of Atherton in the second round, No. 9 Dominic Barretto of Tiburon in the third round and No. 5 Gabriel Owens of Los Altos in the quarterfinals.  
   Paul Barretto will face third-seeded Austen Huang of Elk Grove for the title today at 10 a.m.
   Huang dominated unseeded Mitchell Iwahiro of Granite Bay 6-1, 6-0. Huang has lost no more than two games in any of his five matches in the tournament.
   In the boys 16 final at 10 a.m., No. 1 seed Andrew Ton of Milpitas will take on No. 3 Keenan Mayo of Roseville. Ton beat No. 5 Chethan Swanson of Folsom 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, and Mayo handled second-seeded Daly Meinert of Fresno 6-3, 7-5.
   In the 14-and-under division of last year's USTA National Clay Court Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mayo won the singles title, and Ton took the doubles crown with Brandon Nakashima of San Diego.
   Meanwhile, fourth-seeded Rachel Eason of Union City will meet fifth-seeded Jessi Muljat, playing on her home courts, today at 1 p.m. in the semifinals of the Girls 18 Sectionals at the Arden Hills Resort Club & Spa in Sacramento.
   Eason beat Muljat 6-2, 6-4 in April in the girls 18 final of the Rio Del Oro Junior Excellence tournament at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club in Sacramento.
   In the other semifinal at 1 p.m., top-seeded Camille Favero, also playing on her home courts, will play fifth-seeded Jenna Friedel of Mill Valley.
   The semifinal matchups in the girls 16s at Arden Hills are No. 1 Ashley Yeah of Los Gatos against No. 4 Jillian Taggart of Fair Oaks and No. 2 Niluka Madurawe of Sunnyvale vs. No. 3 Katie Volynets of Walnut Creek. Both matches will be at 11 a.m.
   Volynets, 13, won last year's USTA girls 12 national championship.
