Gordon, the 22nd-ranked junior in the world at 15 years old, pulled out against Emma Higuchi, 17, of Los Angeles with an abdominal injury.
Last year, Gordon reached the Easter Bowl semifinals and, as a qualifier, the Wimbledon girls quarterfinals in her first tournament on grass.
Another Saratoga resident, 16-year-old Alaina Miller, lost to Ena Shibahara, 17, of Rancho Palos Verdes 6-2, 7-5 on Wednesday in the second round of the girls 18s.
Meanwhile, three Northern Californian boys -- Sam Riffice of Roseville, Cameron Klinger of Elk Grove and Jake DeVine of Los Altos Hills -- advanced to the 18 doubles quarterfinals with separate partners.
The Easter Bowl is one of the top junior tournaments in the United States.
