Querrey, who grew up in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, has won 13 straight matches in the tournament. He captured the title in 2009 and 2010 but missed last year's event after undergoing elbow surgery.
“I feel like I always play well here,” Querrey, who played six matches for the Sacramento Capitals of World TeamTennis this season, was quoted as saying on atpworldtour.com. “I grew up kind of playing around this area, and I’m really comfortable out there on the courts. It’s fun to play in front of my friends and family. It all came together this week, and especially today.”
Querrey joined four-time champions Andre Agassi and Jimmy Connors as the only players in the Open Era to have won three or more Los Angeles titles.
Querrey rose 19 spots to No. 38 in the world with the singles title, his seventh on the ATP World Tour.
WTT -- The host Capitals, winning every set for the first time this season, defeated the Boston Lobsters 25-17 to finish the regular season 7-7. See below for full results.
Sacramento will face the Orange Country Breakers (8-6) on Sept. 14 in the Western Conference finals.
The Washington Kastles (14-0) completed their second consecutive undefeated regular season, beating the host Springfield Lasers 25-14 in overtime.
Washington has won 30 consecutive matches dating to July 22, 2010. It's the second-longest winning streak in professional sports history behind the Los Angeles Lakers' 33 in a row in 1971-72.
Olympics --The match between Folsom resident Dmitry Tursunov and Feliciano Lopez of Spain in the first round of the Olympics at Wimbledon was postponed by rain until Monday. Lopez leads the head-to-head series 3-2.
